When you need an ID card translated

A national ID card shows up as proof of identity, of parents' names or of a civil registry number in USCIS cases, at the DMV, at banks and with employers. It is also asked for with other documents, when the ID is the only one that shows a detail the agency needs.

Whether an agency accepts the ID card or asks for a passport is up to that agency, so check its instructions before ordering.

Names and numbers exactly as in the original

The translation reproduces names, dates and document numbers exactly as written on the card, and translates the issuing authority, the signature line and the notes on the back. Also see our passport translation.

Help Center

Turnaround, price, accepted documents and how to order: the most common questions are already answered in the Help Center, organized by topic.

A name is spelled differently from my passport. Can you change it?

The translation reproduces names exactly as they appear in the original document. If we made a typo, we fix it at no cost. If the original itself has a different spelling, tell us before we start and we will guide you on how to handle it.

Is a photo from my phone good enough?

Yes, as long as the whole document is legible. Take it on a flat surface, in good light, with all four corners visible and no glare or blur. If any part is unreadable, we ask for a new photo before quoting.

My document is partly in English. Do you translate all of it?

We translate every part that is not in the target language, including stamps, seals and handwritten notes, and keep the rest as it appears in the original. Tell us when you send it, so the quote reflects only what needs translation.

Does USCIS accept your translations?

Yes. USCIS accepts certified translations, and ours include the signed certificate of accuracy and US notarization. Every foreign-language document you file must come with a full English translation. Final acceptance of any application is always decided by USCIS.

How will I receive my translation? Can I print it?

You receive a non-editable PDF by email, with the certification, signatures and digital seals. You can print it freely. If you cannot open the file, we resend it on WhatsApp.
