Certified Translation
Certified translations accepted in the USA. Perfect for immigration, schools, and official processes. Fast delivery.
Certified translation in the UK is a full translation of your document with a signed statement confirming that it is accurate, the date, the contact details of the translator or the translation company and the translator’s credentials. It is what the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), courts, universities and banks ask for when a document is not in English.
The Immigration Rules (paragraph 39B) and the evidence rules for family visas (Appendix FM-SE) ask every translation to come with the original document and to include:
Every certified translation we deliver for the UK includes the five points above, so the same translation serves an application made from abroad, an extension inside the UK, settlement and British citizenship. You cannot translate your own documents, and neither can a relative: the Home Office has to be able to verify the translation independently.
Certified translation: the translator or the company signs the statement of accuracy. It is the standard for the Home Office, HM Passport Office, the DVLA and most universities and employers.
Notarised translation: a notary public confirms who signed the statement. Our statement is signed before a notary public in Florida, USA, at no extra cost (see notarised translation). If a UK organisation asks for a notary or a solicitor in the UK, check with them before you order.
Sworn and legalised translation: in the UK, a sworn translation is a statement sworn before a solicitor or a notary, and a legalised one also carries an apostille from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) for use abroad. The Home Office asks for neither.
We translate from and into more than 30 languages, and these are the documents UK applicants send us most often:
Upload your documents and you will see the price and the delivery date in the instant quote, before you pay. A native translator of the target language translates, a second translator checks names, dates and numbers, and you receive the certified translation by email as a PDF, with a printed copy by post if you ask for one. Prices are on our pricing page.
Every translation is done by a professional translator. To know who they are and what the Home Office means by a qualified translator, see our certified translator in the UK page.

For each document that is not in English or Welsh, the Home Office asks for the original and a full translation it can verify independently. The translation must be dated and include confirmation that it is accurate, the full name and signature of the translator or of an official of the translation company, and their contact details. For leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain, it must also show the translator’s credentials. A notarised translation is not required.
No. The UK Home Office has to be able to verify the translation independently, so it cannot be done by you or by a relative, even one who speaks both languages. The translation must come from a professional translator or a translation company.
Yes. We translate your documents into English and certify each translation with a signed statement of accuracy, the date, our contact details and the translator’s credentials, which is what the UK Home Office asks for. The translation can be done outside the UK: the rules do not require a British translator.
Our core languages are Portuguese, Spanish, English, Italian and French, and we work with many more, from Arabic and Chinese to German, Japanese and Russian. Tell us the language pair and we confirm availability before quoting.
You receive a non-editable PDF by email, with the certification, signatures and digital seals. You can print it freely. If you cannot open the file, we resend it on WhatsApp.
