Translation services in London for official use: we translate your documents into English, or from English into more than 30 languages, and certify each one for UK Visas and Immigration, the courts, universities, banks and the borough register offices. Everything is done online, and the translation arrives by email.
When a document is not in English, these are the offices in London that most often ask for a certified translation:
Around half of the people born in Brazil who live in England and Wales live in London, according to the 2021 census estimates, and the city has consulates general of Brazil, Portugal and Spain. Many of our London clients come from these communities, with documents in Portuguese or Spanish going to the Home Office, or British documents going back home.
For a British document going to Brazil, such as a London birth or marriage certificate to be registered at a Brazilian registry office, the translation must be the Brazilian sworn translation (tradução juramentada), done by a sworn translator in Brazil. We provide that too.
Lunar House, the 20-storey building in Croydon that houses the headquarters of UK Visas and Immigration, was finished in 1970 and named after the Apollo 11 Moon landing of the year before. For many people who have lived in London, it is the address on their first immigration letter.
London has 32 boroughs and the City of London, and each borough has its own register office, which issues certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates on behalf of the General Register Office. For the City of London, it is the Islington register office.
We do not have an office in London, and you do not need to go anywhere: you upload your documents, see the price and the delivery date in the instant quote, and receive the certified translation by email as a PDF. Find out who signs the translation, see the other translation services in the UK and the prices on our pricing page.

Yes. We translate your documents into English and certify each translation with a signed statement of accuracy, the date, our contact details and the translator’s credentials, which is what the UK Home Office asks for. The translation can be done outside the UK: the rules do not require a British translator.
For each document that is not in English or Welsh, the Home Office asks for the original and a full translation it can verify independently. The translation must be dated and include confirmation that it is accurate, the full name and signature of the translator or of an official of the translation company, and their contact details. For leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain, it must also show the translator’s credentials. A notarised translation is not required.
No. The UK Home Office has to be able to verify the translation independently, so it cannot be done by you or by a relative, even one who speaks both languages. The translation must come from a professional translator or a translation company.
By people. Every document is translated by a professional linguist and goes through double human review for accuracy, grammar, formatting and consistency before delivery.
You receive a non-editable PDF by email, with the certification, signatures and digital seals. You can print it freely. If you cannot open the file, we resend it on WhatsApp.
