Roxo Translations offers Dutch translation services for documents from the Netherlands, Belgium, Suriname and the Dutch Caribbean, to and from English, Italian and other languages. Every translation is done by a human translator, native in the target language, and reviewed by a second one, never by machine translation.
Send a photo or scan of the document, see the price and the deadline instantly, and receive the translation as a PDF. For the United States it comes certified and accepted by USCIS, with the signed statement and notarization included, and for other countries we add the Hague apostille when it applies.
Dutch is the official language of the Netherlands and Suriname, one of the three official languages of Belgium, where it is spoken in Flanders and in Brussels, and an official language of Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten in the Caribbean. It has more than 20 million native speakers and is an official language of the European Union. Emigration took Dutch to the United States, from Michigan to Iowa, and to Canada, Australia and Brazil. The destination decides the type of translation.

Dutch is one language, with one official spelling, but the Dutch of the Netherlands, the Flemish of Belgium and the Dutch of Suriname differ in some words and expressions, and each country issues its documents in its own format. A good translation keeps every detail of the record and reads naturally to whoever receives it.
Dutch is a West Germanic language, like English and German, and grew out of the speech of the Franks who settled in the Low Countries. One of the oldest known sentences in it, Hebban olla vogala nestas hagunnan, which means all the birds have started their nests, was written around the year 1100. In the 13th century, the Flemish poet Jacob van Maerlant was already writing in Middle Dutch.
In the 17th century, the Dutch Republic became a great trading power. The States Bible (Statenbijbel), published in 1637, shaped the written language, and the Dutch East India Company, founded in 1602, took Dutch to Asia, the Caribbean and the Cape of Good Hope. Between 1630 and 1654, the Dutch held part of the Northeast of Brazil, from Recife, and New Amsterdam, today’s New York, left words such as cookie, boss and Santa Claus in American English.
Today Dutch has more than 20 million native speakers. The Netherlands and Belgium founded the Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie) in 1980, Suriname joined it later, and the union keeps the common spelling. Afrikaans, spoken in South Africa and Namibia, grew out of the Dutch brought to the Cape, and Pennsylvania Dutch, despite its name, is a dialect of German.

Yes. We translate documents from the Netherlands, Belgium, Suriname and the Dutch Caribbean, such as birth and marriage certificates and population register extracts, to and from English and other languages. Flemish from Belgium is Dutch, with the same spelling, and we keep every name exactly as in the original, including prefixes such as van and de.
The translation reproduces names exactly as they appear in the original document. If we made a typo, we fix it at no cost. If the original itself has a different spelling, tell us before we start and we will guide you on how to handle it.
A certified translation is a complete translation signed by a qualified professional, with a statement attesting that it is accurate and complete. In the United States it is the format required by USCIS, courts, universities and most official institutions.
Birth, marriage and death certificates, divorce decrees, diplomas and transcripts, driver's licenses, passports and IDs, criminal records, bank and financial statements, medical and vaccination records, contracts, affidavits and court documents, among others. Send a photo and we confirm.
By people. Every document is translated by a professional linguist and goes through double human review for accuracy, grammar, formatting and consistency before delivery.
Often yes, depending on the pair and the service. For certified translation we confirm translator availability. For sworn translation into Portuguese, some pairs require a two-step route through English. We tell you the option before quoting.
